VOLUNTARY COUNSELLING AND TESTING CENTRES (VCT) AND PREVENTION OF MOTHER TO CHILD TRANSMISSION

The Small Projects Foundation has embarked on an ambitious programme to roll-out community based VCT centres in the communities of Kwazakhele (Port Elizabeth), Maclear, Ugie and Libode.  These VCT centres are to be subsidized by the Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Health for which we are awaiting signature of an agreement.  Funding for establishment of centres has been provided by Transnet and ABSA Foundation.

The vision is to prevent infection of youth, mothers and men with HIV and to provide a continuum of care for children and other people living with HIV/AIDS within their communities.
