Makunga Mvalo, Mzoxolo Primary and Dickson Dyani Primary have won the Best Strategic Planning for the new school year.
Thanks to long hours, motivated pupils and dedicated teachers, these schools have held meetings, maintained academic monitoring and thrown successful co-curricular events (including sporting events!).
Their excellent planning is thanks to the efforts of the Kistefos Education Programme, which began in 2014. The programme, which is run by Hilton Williams, has improved the quality of education on offer at participating schools, with academic mentorship, improved facilities and established reading programmes creating a rich learning environment for learners.
frican Book Connection and Max McGregor have donated books to the Kistefos Education Programme, which will directly benefit classroom libraries. These classroom libraries are a rich resource, and are helping to create a reading culture that improves academic performance and increases the chance of students applying themselves for further studies.
These kinds of donations keep the spirit of learning alive, and are a huge motivation for teachers and learners alike.
