The programme is implemented in 22 Primary Schools located in Buffalo City Municipality. The vision of the project is to empower school principals, School Governing Bodies (SGBs), School Management Teams (SMTs), staff, learners and the community; to improve the quality of learning and teaching in primary and high schools. It aims at improving Literacy, Mathematics, Science and learning in the targeted 22 schools. Results 31 Primary Schools reached. Schools all locked down in March. We believe that effective schooling will not happen this year and suggest postponing most work until January 2021

The programme aims to benefit 22 primary schools with quality improvement plans in place. Results 31 Primary Schools reached. Benefit 66 teachers (Science, Mathematics, Literacy in Xhosa/English) by being mentored by mentors to improve teaching and learning. Results 158 Teachers trained and mentored

·         Target 2800 learners over 2 years. Improve leadership, learning and resilience. Results 10 236 Children reached. Schools all locked down awaiting re-opening.

·         19 new Primary Schools started in Mid 2019.

·         The programme currently provides support to 31 Primary Schools.

Schools all locked down from March 2020. New work to start in January 2021
